PREP Write out these terms under the class post and define them:
SCHEDULING : the timing of an advertisement which is presented as plots on a flowchart every year.
LIVE TELEVISION: Any show that you watch as its being shown on TV live.
'SECOND SCREENING' : When a show that was live is shown at a later date, for a second time
AUDIENCE INTERACTIVITY: When the audience interacts with the show, this may include voting for contestants on game shows.
THE WATERSHED : the time at witch TV channels may start to show content that is unsuitable for children.
PEAK VIEWING TIME: the time of day when most people are watching tv and when advertising costs the most.
HIGH PRODUCTION VALUES : money spent on the production in terms of design, set, costumes, location etc to make the programme look good

ReplyDeleteCheck the definition of 'second screening' on page 22 of the OCR text book. It refers to audience's increasing use of social media such as tweeting and joining Facebook discussions about a programme : it encourages audiences to be active rather than passive
Be prepared to offer more information on 'interactivity' such as viewers being encouraged to vote for favourites, an activity which increases the audience's commitment to the programme /channel.
